The 210 M$ CA expansion of the Palais des Congrès added over 55 000 m2 to the convention hall. It also provided a link between the old port and downtown Montreal in a bold and colourful way. Built on top of the Ville-Marie highway, the construction was challenged by the management of the traffic below, the proximity of other constructions sites, the existing infrastructure, the integration of existing buildings and the construction of an underground parking of 1,200 spaces.
